Microsoft has released a new update for Windows 10 in order to resolve a bug breaking down microphones in Voice Recorder and other apps on the system.
The patch is KB4516421, and it is offered as an out-of-band non-security update, with Microsoft saying it that it pushed it to devices specifically to address the glitch causing USB Audio 2.0 multi-channel microphones to fail.
“Addresses an issue in which some customers may be unable to use USB Audio 2.0 multi-channel microphones in Voice Recorder and similar apps,” Microsoft explains in the release notes.
Interestingly, the update isn’t available on the Microsoft Update Catalog, but on the other hand, it’s served to devices through Windows Update automatically. Microsoft explains the update will be downloaded and installed automatically on affected devices.
