Microsoft has finally resolved issues blocking the upgrade to Windows 10 version 1903, or May 2019 Update, on the company’s very own Surface Book 2.
Earlier this year, Microsoft acknowledged an issue causing the display adapter to disappear from the Device Manager, eventually forcing Surface Book 2 users to stick with the integrated graphics.
Microsoft put an upgrade block in place to prevent the device from being offered Windows 10 version 1903, keeping these devices locked on Windows 10 October 2018 Update (version 1809).
The latest firmware update for Surface Book 2, includes three different changes, two of which resolve two critical issues hitting the device.
In addition to improving battery stability, this firmware update also “resolves an issue where the CPU will throttle down to .4GHz,” as per the official changelog.
